| 3RFoam Application:
LANDFILL CAPPING
Special provisions
are required at waste and residue landfill capping to prevent
the soil from being contaminated. One of the main provisions
is a waterproof seal. This seal consists of a sealing layer
that prevents water working its way into the waste and/or
residues. Another layer, consisting of a drainage layer, which
is required here, and soil, is placed on top of this waterproof
layer.
The drainage and protective mats by 3RFoam are made from high
quality, closed-cell, cross-linked, polyethylene flakes.
Advantages for use at landfill capping:
- Compact yield high efficiency
drainage yield (increases the capacity of the dump).
- Simple to handle.
- Prevents the use of primary
raw materials that are often scarce.
- Environmentally friendly
product.
- Fast and cost effective
to install.
- High vertical drainage due
to the open structure of the thermally linked XPE flakes.
- The grooves on the underside
of the
drainage mat ensure extremely high
transmission of water (horizontal water
removal), so that extremely long inclines
can be bridged and intermediate drainage is often not necessary.
